Hailing from Los Angeles, American heavy metal band RATT is recognized as one of the most popular rock acts of the mid-‘80s. After grabbing the attention of Atlantic Records with their 1983 self-titled independent release, RATT released Out of the Cellar the following year, which reached the American Top Ten and sold over three million copies, with the first single from the album, “Round and Round,” hitting number 12 and proving the band’s pop crossover potential. RATT’s sophomore album, Invasion of Your Privacy, also reached Top Ten, selling over a million copies and helping to continue the growth of the band’s popularity, which lead to sell out concerts and airtime on MTV.
