Friends, new and old, will come together on Saturday, March 3, 2018 for St. John Center’s 12th annual Raisin’ the Rent party. In 2007, a committed Ignite Louisville group began what is now our biggest annual fundraiser to support our mission to break the barriers between homelessness and housing. Today, that mission holds true, and our success has been unstoppable. This last fiscal year, 211 men left our shelter and moved to housing.
The 2018 event will be held from 7-11 p.m. at the Mellwood Art Center, 1860 Mellwood Avenue. All profits go to support St. John Center for Homeless Men, which helps its clients move toward housing each day.
RTR patrons will be able to dance to live music from Louisville’s own The Remedy, taste some delicious hors d’oeuvres, and bid on a variety of quality silent auction items. Katie George with WDRB news will emcee the evening, and Trey Morris, auctioneer with Menish Auction Group, will entertain guests with games and fundraising efforts.
The cost is $30 for tickets purchased before February 17, 2018 and will then increase to $40 after that date. Patrons can register for tickets online at bidpal.net/rtr. This year’s event is presented by Charah Inc. and Atria Senior Living. For more information, to register, donate an auction item, or become a sponsor, call Keith Steer at (502) 568-6758, ext. 31.
