Don’t miss the season’s biggest magical event: Potterpalooza returns to the Louisville Free Public Library for its third year on Saturday, December 7 (6 – 10 p.m.). Come celebrate the yuletide season as we transform the Main Library (301 York Street) into the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Enjoy the magic of David Garrard, take ballroom dance lessons to prepare for the Yule Ball, participate in the Tri-Wizard Tournament, wander Diagon Alley, and so much more!
Again this year, adults can enjoy trivia and some adult beverages from Against the Grain Brewery in our very own Hog's Head Pub. You must be 21 or older to enter, ID required - no ID, no entry (not even Voldemort could get past the gate without ID). Books and merchandise will also be on sale in the lobby from Carmichael's Kids and refreshments will be available for purchase from Heine Brothers' Coffee.
To get in the Potterpalooza spirit, the Louisville Free Public Library is helping Dobby free other house elves by accepting donations of new socks, scarves, and gloves. Drop them off at any Library branch between now and December 7, or give them to Dobby yourself at the Yule Ball (all donations benefit YMCA Safe Place)!
Potterpalooza is free for all ages, and all muggles, witches, and wizards are invited to come dressed in ball attire or as their favorite Harry Potter character. For more information visit LFPL.org, or call (502) 574-1620.
