McQuixote Books & Coffee will host the fourth installment of the Portland Poetry Series inside The Tim Faulkner Gallery.
The Portland Poetry Series is an ambitious monthly poetry reading that features established regional and national poets, as well as emerging Louisville artists. Each month the poets will rally around a central them, with this month’s theme being “Epiphany”.
The series has settled into its new home on the first Monday of the month comfortably. “We’ve had a fantastic turnout for the series so far,” says Trevor DeCuir, co-owner of McQuixote Books & Coffee.
The night begins with “works from the canon” which serves to set the tone for the evening, followed by two of the featured poets. A short intermission gives the audience a chance to stretch, regroup, or chat with the poets. Then it’s right back in with 3 first-come, first-served open-mic spots. The last of the featured poets finish off the night.
Featured poets for the March installment of the Portland Poetry Series are Amber Burns, Jeremy Clark, Adam Day, and Yolantha Harrison-Pace.
