Our guest speaker, Frank X Walker, is the celebrated former poet laureate of Kentucky, University of Kentucky professor, and founding member of the Affrilachian Poets. A lover of history and truth telling, Frank has been a long-time poet/visual artist and social justice activist. He will talk about how his roles as artist and activist have been intertwined, and will read from his work, including his newest book on York.
Music composed by Frank Richmond and inspired by Frank X's poetry will be a special part of the service. We are honored to present the reknown Gregory Rahming for this part of the music program. Gregory is our guest vocalist during this presentation. In 1989, Gregory Emanuel Ramming made his Operatic debut on the stage with The Kentucky Opera. He has since that time had a tremendous career that spans more than 20 years as an International Opera Singer, star of Broadway in New York City, noted Voice Teacher and Music Educator.
Frank X Walker's books will be available for sale and signing immediately following the service. Please "Invite" your friends to this special event- we welcome all visitors!
