Varanese Restaurant, located at 2106 Frankfort Avenue, will host the “Old Forester Whiskey Row Bourbon Dinner” on Thursday, September 29, with a reception at 6:30pm and dinner at 7:00pm.
The special dinner will highlight Old Forester’s recently-released Old Whiskey Row Series Expression: 1920 Prohibition Style, the third in the series from Louisville-based distiller Brown-Forman, along with three cocktails and a flight of all three Whiskey Row Series bourbon: Old Forester 1920, Old Forester 1870, and Old Forester 1897. Old Forester, established in 1870, is America’s first bottled bourbon and the perfect choice for celebrating Bourbon Heritage Month in Kentucky – legend even has it that Old Forester was the bourbon used to craft the first Old Fashioned.
The special guest for the evening will be Whiskey Brand Champion Catherine Platz, who will be on hand to answer questions about the Whiskey Row Series being served and their special attributes.
