Fun news! Yelp Louisville has joined forces with Actors Theatre of Louisville to sponsor the Offstage event for ATL's new play, "At the Vanishing Point."
Come carouse in Actors Theatre's lobby spaces as part of a free pre-show reception that will include free bites from Harvest (yelp.com/biz/harvest-res…), Garage Bar (yelp.com/biz/garage-bar-…), The Joy Luck (yelp.com/biz/the-joy-luc…) and Comfy Cow (yelp.com/biz/comfy-cow-l…), along with portraits on display by The Pretty Gritty (theprettygritty.com), a visual collection of purposeful and unintentional street style in Louisville and beyond.
The reception will also feature live music from a collection of Louisville bluegrass and folk musicians, including members of the Slow Charleston and The JOE Band -- a trio of 17-year-old musicians who have been studying traditional bluegrass and playing together for four years -- as well as some special guests.
And then at 8 p.m. take in "At the Vanishing Point" -- which is based in Butchertown and features Kentucky musician Ben Sollee -- at the highly-discounted price of $20 per ticket.

ABOUT "AT THE VANISHING POINT":
Naomi Iizuka returns with this beautifully observed portrait of one of Louisville's oldest neighborhoods. A mix of memory and myth, At the Vanishing Point brings together ghosts of the past and snapshots of the present, giving voice to the historic community of Butchertown. Based on extensive interviews and local research, the piece premiered under the direction of Les Waters as part of the 2004 Humana Festival. A decade later, Iizuka and Waters revisit the banks of Beargrass Creek with a re-envisioned production that incorporates music by Kentucky native Ben Sollee.
You can also take part in post-show drinks with the cast and crew at a special Actors Theatre of Louisville's InterACT event at Copper and Kings.
