THU 5 MAR at THE JEFFERSONIAN: Created as a theatrical work “to be read, played, and danced” by three actors and a narrator, A Soldier’s Tale is a Russian folk tale that will come to life through David Bridel’s cast of life-sized puppets. Plus French composer Ravel’s gentle tribute to friends lost in WW I, Le Tombeau de Couperin is performed with the composer’s small ensemble orchestration. American composer Sarah Kirkland Snider wrote Hireath to express the deep longing for home and family experienced by many in our highly mobile society. We are pleased to bring you this work in it’s first performance by the Louisville Orchestra.
