You’re Invited! ART SHOW OPENING: Moonshine by Vinnie Kochert

Revelry is excited to present artist Vinnie Kochert and his art show titled Moonshine. Even though this is Vinnie’s first solo show with us, he is an experienced artist having shown in multiple group shows and other galleries around the city. He may be best known for his work as a tattoo artist at Twisted Images Tattoo Parlor in the Highlands. This rough and rugged lifestyle bleeds over into his work. The overarching design is very raw and edgy, as Vinnie pays homage to Kentucky’s (badass) history.

The beauty in Vinnie’s art is not in the color or rich texture. It is in the fine details and an intriguing subject. In order to achieve such graphic pieces, Vinnie has to start with small images where he can contour every major shape to create a sketch. With this he makes precise cuts, eliminating negative space and/or highlights and shadows, all while keeping the whole image intact. This becomes the stencil he projects on a larger scale and ultimately colors with simply black spray paint and a white marker.  By combining this extensive process with strong imagery, Vinnie is sure to deliver a powerful show.
