In this workshop, learn practical tips such as best practices and pitfalls to avoid so that you can attract Monarchs and other pollinators to your home garden or school, business, or neighborhood green space:
Participants will leave with milkweed seeds, a handout with resources, and a plant list to help get started in the spring.
Chris Padgett, a member of the Waterfront Botanical Gardens, will be presenting.
Monarch Watch certified his garden as one of the first local Monarch Waystations and he’ll share insights he’s learned growing numerous species of milkweed over the past eight years and maintaining a Monarch Waystation in his garden.
The monarch butterfly is a symbol of rebirth and transformation, but it’s in perilous decline and needs many gardeners to help prevent its unthinkable demise. If more of us add Monarch habitats to our gardens, we can save this species for future generations. Join us.
