ABOUT MAP LOUISVILLE:
MAP Louisville started in 2009 and was originally created to be a spoof and viewing party for the Miss America Pageant.
MAP, now an acronym for Making Acceptance Possible, has evolved into being a unique way to bring local businesses and community supporters together to raise money for Louisville charaties and have fun doing so.
For first four years of MAP Louisville, we supported the Louisville Youth Group and believe we helped bring greater awareness to this important charity. Now in year five and with the right to marry being debated in Kentucky, we wanted to continue to help the youth of LYG as well as others across the state by supporting the equality movement. That is why this year all proceeds of MAP Louisville will go to support The Fairness Campaign.
ABOUT THE FAIRNESS CAMPAIGN:
Founded in 1991, the Fairness Campaign is a broad-based community effort dedicated to equal rights. Its primary goal is comprehensive civil rights legislation prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.
The Fairness Campaign accomplishes its goals through public education and advocacy, political activity, community building and reciprocal alliances with others in the social justice community.
