The MakerPlace allows kids and families to bring ideas and inventions to life. We’ll help you find inspiration, learn to use cool tools like laser cutters and 3D printers, figure out how to turn a handful of electronics and wires into programmable machines, and much more.
We can make anything from robotic pets, to jewelry that senses your heartbeat, to marshmallow shooters, whatever you can dream up! Why do-it-yourself? We can do it better together. No two workshops are alike, we challenge you to design something new at each workshop. Participants are encouraged to bring a hack-able object from home for a one of a kind creation.
Family-friendly makerspace workshops, led by a Kentucky Science Center educator, at the Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana are a great opportunity to get involved in the exciting makerspace movement. Design, build, tinker, experiment and invent all sorts of gadgets and gizmos – and take your new invention home!

This meeting is open to the newly curious and seasoned makers alike. Attendees are encouraged to bring any existing projects or new ideas to get access to the right tools, knowledge, and materials. Don’t have a project? No problem. Come and check out what’s going on and we’ll help you match your interests to a cool project you can work on at future meetings. No formal lesson is planned, but we’ll start with a short formal meeting and then get to work dreaming up and making cool things.
