When teenage addicts are accused of neglecting their newborn daughter, a veteran social worker, Caroline, places her in the care of her grandmother. Then family secrets and religious devotion complicate what had seemed like a typical case, and Caroline must rely on her instincts while she struggles against a lack of resources and navigates denial, deceit, and loss. In this powerful, haunting drama about the difficulty of knowing how to do good in the world, faith meets doubt and the best intentions meet reality as the people who care most about baby Luna strive to find her a home.
