With the victory for marriage equality nationwide, Fair Event Vendors Alliance (FEVA) and Mercury Ballroom proudly present the Love Won Wedding Show, a progressive vendor exhibition aimed at reaching the LGBTQ community and allies of Louisville and Southern Indiana. Collectively, we believe the future of the wedding industry is in honoring the traditions of the past, while modernizing events to reflect the dynamic, eclectic, unique couples of today and in doing so, promote inclusivity.
The Love Won Wedding Show features members of FEVA, a non-profit organization founded in Louisville, aimed at connecting the LGBTQ community with local wedding and event vendors who believe in fairness, and to promote the growth of that community of support. FEVA is comprised of over 60 wedding and event vendors who not only advocate for equality, but who have also received educational resources to competently prepare them for LGBTQ celebrations, which is essential.
Mercury Ballroom is the ideal setting for this innovative show in both its intimacy and design. With an existing pop art aesthetic, infused with the music and energy which graces its stage, this venue offers the electric feel we’re looking for. Clubs also hold significant importance in LGBTQ history, most notably with Stonewall and the riot that took place there in June of 1969, which catapulted the gay rights movement. Clubs have also served, and continue to serve, as a refuge for the LGBTQ community from discrimination. We aim to create a safe space for ALL couples and help support them in designing the wedding celebration of their dreams!
Featured at the show, special guest appearances by Gunnar Deatherage (local fashion designer & former Project Runway contestant) and local fairness figures, door prizes and more! Breaking from tradition, our show will be held in the evening on Thursday, October 22, 2015 from 6pm-9pm.
We encourage all guests to pre-register @ www.fairvendors.org.
