Conceived in Denton Texas in 1996 as a "scene building exercise", Rock Lottery's storied tradition finds its way to Louisville, Ky by way of VHS or Beta's Craig Pfunder. Having recently returned to Louisville from an 8 year stint in NYC, Pfunder found a flourishing musical landscape perfect for the likes of Rock Lottery who's concept is simple. 25 hand picked local musicians, 5 of which are drummers, all meet at 10am at Headliners Music Hall. The 5 drummers will pick the remaining 20 musicians from a hat, creating 5 unique bands. Those bands will have 12 hours to write 3-4 original songs and if they wish, one cover song. At 10pm all 5 bands return to Headliners and perform those songs to an eager audience. Proceeds will benefit local charity Shamrock Pet Foundation.
