Hwang’s Martial Arts (“HMA”), along with Kosair Children’s Hospital, are once again pleased to announce ourannual spring fundraising event, the Louisville Health Kick Festival.  On Saturday, March 7th, 2015, from noon until 4 pm, the Kentucky International Convention Center will host an afternoon of SUPER FUN activities to help families get motivated to be healthy!   

The Louisville Health Kick Festival is designed to provide local families the opportunity to have fun, AND get healthy together! The event will provide free health screenings and host informative, interactive booths provided by local businesses, (including the Kentucky Science Center). The entire family will have a chance to tour fire and safety vehicles. Also, kids can jump wildly in our inflatable bounce houses!  For those who are less adventurous, a petting zoo will be available to interact with cuddly animal friends. HMA instructors will also be present to showcase self-defense clinics and martial arts tutorials. Families will learn fun and exciting activities that promote a healthy and active lifestyle together!

Joining us as our special guests this year will be the 2015 Miss Kentucky USA, Katie George and 2015 Miss Kentucky Teen USA, Caroline Ford!  Also on hand at the event for special photo opportunities will be various Superheroes, Star Wars and Disney characters, including, Superman, Shazam, Spider-Man, Batman, Boba Fett, Anna, Elsa, Cinderella, Jasmine and Belle.

Additionally, for the foodies among us, for mere $25 per ticket, the participants will have the chance to win $1,000 worth of delicious gourmet entrees, drinks and desserts from top 10 restaurants in town!  The event will hold a raffle for 10 restaurants with a value of $50-$100 each at participating restaurants: St. Charles Exchange, Corbetts, Anoosh Bistro, Volare, Basa, Ramsi’s Café on the World, Roux, Mayan Café, Joy Luck, Verbena Café, and Martini’s. 

Lastly, from 2 until 4 pm, festival-goers will enjoy once-in-a-lifetime demonstration from none other than the world’s first 19th degree black belt and 1984 Olympic Medalist, Grandmaster, Jung Oh Hwang!  Along with the spine-tingling martial arts demonstration by Grandmaster Hwang, hundreds of Hwang’s students will be performing exciting demonstrations of their own, featuring heart-stopping weapons routines, high-flying board breaking, and an exhilarating display of precision and techniques.
