Old Louisville LIVE Coming to Central Park this Spring LOUISVILLE, KY (Bringing the arts to Central Park for everyone to enjoy is an important part of our mission,” said Howard Rosenberg, Chairman of the Old Louisville Neighborhood Council. “We all love Kentucky Shakespeare, and now we are going to light up the park with a fantastic array of performers before and after the Shakespeare season. We’re launching with a big gospel music fest with 10 ensembles. During the Derby Festival, we’ll rock with the Louisville Crashers, then on May 1st we host the ever popular Louisville Leopard Percussionists. The bling of the season will be the Louisville Ballet performing ‘Shakespeare in Dance’ for five nights. Labor Day weekend the Nou Lou Chamber Players will perform and kick it up with a little Latin American, Jazz and Bluegrass. The U of L Classical Guitarists will grace the stage the following week, then we’re lucky to have the Mike Tracy Brazilian Jazz ensemble in mid-September. We finish with the explosive fun of the U of L Steel Drum band the weekend before the St. James Court Art Show. I encourage everyone to come out, bring a friend and enjoy the shows!”
Food and drink will be available for purchase. Old Louisville LIVE is sponsored by Treyton Oak Towers, Genscape, Third Street Association, The 1300 Association, Garvin Gate Neighborhood Association, B& C Plumbing, and Councilman David James. All performances are free and open to the public.
