Levee at the River House, located at 3015 River Road, is partnering with the Louisville Film Society to host “Lights, Camera, Levee!” – a series of outdoor film screenings that will be free and open to the public. The screenings will take place on the expansive lawn and patio at Levee overlooking the river, and seating is limited so guests are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. The films will start at dark, around 8:30pm each night, and food and drink specials will be offered during the screenings. Held rain or shine, event will be moved inside in the case of rain.
The series will kick off on Sunday, September 17th with a screening of the 2017 science fiction film, War for the Planet of the Apes (rated PG-13). The movie is the sequel to Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011) and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014), and is still showing in theaters, so this will be the first local free screening of the film.
