We are excited to announce that we now have a Louisville-area chapter of The Planetary Society! We’ll be engaging our space community with monthly get-togethers and outreach events to bring space exploration down to Earth in Louisville. Please join us for an orientation party on Saturday, October 14th.

Our gathering will start with a quick presentation on the latest in Planetary Society news, then we’ll spend time getting to know one another to define our collective priorities and goals for our newly-engaged community. We’d love to hear your ideas for activities, events, and anything else you’d like to see The Planetary Society do in the Louisville area. Meet your Outreach Coordinators:

Becky Steele is a future astrophysicist and full-time PhD student in University of Louisville’s Physics & Astronomy department. Becky has also been a NASA Solar System Ambassador since 2016, and is an avid supporter of grassroots STEM outreach (formal or informal).

Maryliz Bender is a Digital Content Coordinator at The Planetary Society. A passionate Space Advocate, she works daily to empower the world’s citizens to advance space science and exploration, and educates on our place in space through citizen science, astronomy, music, and the arts.
