The 1st Annual Kentucky Rural Exchange Fall Fair kicks off Nov. 5th at Louisville’s La La Land Studios -- a space that has been the backdrop for records from My Morning Jacket, Houndmouth, Punch Brothers, Joan Shelley and more. We are proud to announce that we will be partnering with great organizations including Weeds of Eden, Nachbar, West Sixth Brewing, Lyric Theater & Cultural Arts Center and The Explore Kentucky Initiative to host a night of good food, good beer and shared love for the Commonwealth (or something equally emotive). Restaurants participating include Wiltshire On Market, Eiderdown, Feast BBQ - Market St. NULU and Migo.
A spin on the classic state fair, the night kicks off at 6 p.m. with music from Appalatin, Juanita, Blind Corn Liquor Pickers, Patty & Simon and more! The night's silent auction will feature classic Kentucky items from all across the Commonwealth, including autographic books, vacations, adventures, original art and more. Take home an out-of-print book signed by social activist and Kentucky-native bell hooks or former Kentucky Poet Laureate Frank X Walker. Be the highest bidder on a zipline pass from Red River Gorge Zipline Tours, a rustic retreat weekend at Pine Mountain Settlement School or get that new piece of art that is just perfect for your living room.
This event celebrates all of Kentucky and all Kentuckians, so there will be something for all tastes. All proceeds go to the Kentucky Rural-Urban Exchange. RUX is a partnership of The Art Of The Rural & Appalshopworking to build a statewide network of community innovators integrating the arts, agriculture and small business in partnership strategies that address our shared social and economic future.
