The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft (KMAC) presents the third annual KMAC Couture Art Walks the Runway event on April 17, 2015 featuring original designs by Project Runway All-Star Gunnar Deatherage, renowned glass artist Laura Donefer, and KMAC featured paper artist Michael Velliquette. This event has expanded exponentially and will now be held in a new location in NuLu to accommodate a larger audience. KMAC Couture will be held on Friday, April 17, 2015, under a white tent outside of the Green Building, located at 732 East Market Street, Louisville, KY. Hors d'oeuvres, provided by Rye, and signature Old Forester cocktails will be available at 7:00pm. The runway show will begin at 8:00pm with an After Party following the event. 

Ticket prices are $175 per individual. VIP packages are available for $500. VIP packages include two front row seats and access to a VIP cocktail hour with artists and models starting at 6:00pm. The dress code for KMAC Couture is shades of white in order to showcase the artistic value of the couture pieces.

This event offers a unique way to experience the Museum and to present emerging artists and designers of wearable art from around the region. In keeping with KMAC's mission the runway show is a creative way to bring in the community in support of the museum's efforts. 

The garments worn for the KMAC Couture event are avant garde wearable art creations that are highly unique and expertly crafted. These original hand-executed designs are constructed from both traditional fabrics and non-traditional materials. The artists and designers that were chosen for the 2015 KMAC Couture are: Harcourt Allen, Brianne Bowers, Raegan Campbell, Maui Crane, Wendy Cudmore, Gunnar Deatherage, Laura Donefer, Andrea Glass, Typh Hainer-Merwarth, Megan Heinsohn, Frances Lewis, Zach Lindsey, Anita Oldham, Willa Petit, Liz Richter, Butch Sager, Cassie Tatum, Guy Tedesco, Raina Trimble, Michael Velliquette, Claire Williams, Lauren Woods, and the following du Pont Manual High School Visual Art students- New Chen, Emma Collins, Michael Crawford, Peyton Froula, Alisa Morozova, Sarah Priddy, Abby Sowers, Brooks Vessels.

The KMAC Couture 2015 committee has been a valuable asset to the museum in organizing and planning the many details to make this event memorable.
