April in Louisville brings spring flowers, showers – and the arrival of kittens! The Purrfect Day Café is helping the Kentucky Humane Society prepare for incoming felines by hosting a Kitten Shower on Sunday, April 14, 3-6 pm. Louisville’s first cat café is located at 1741 Bardstown Road in the Highlands.
The public is invited to bring “wish list” donations for the kittens and learn about fostering opportunities, kitten care and the importance of spaying and neutering. No reservations are needed. There will be kittens, activities for the kids, raffles, grab bags and refreshments. Guests are asked to bring much-needed items such as:
•	Cans of soft pate kitten food
•	Feeders Supply or Amazon gift cards
•	Bottles and KMR (kitten milk replacer) cans and powder
•	Heating pads or microwavable heating discs and covers
•	Unscented baby wipes
•	Gram scales
•	Cash donations
KHS foster coordinator Kayla Saylor said that KHS is looking for new foster caregivers. “Fostering mother cats and kittens is a fun, rewarding way to help needy animals. The animals live in your home until the kittens are old enough to be spay/neutered and adopted – usually a few weeks. KHS provides all the necessary supplies. Our foster families provide love and care.”
