Returning to the Festival schedule after a five-year hiatus, Sullivan University is teaming up with the Kentucky Derby Festival Foundation and Jefferson County Public Schools to produce this year’s Kentucky Derby Festival Foundation Academic Challenge. The quick-recall tournament will be held from 8 AM to 3 PM on Saturday, April 25, at Male High School.

“The Academic Challenge event has always been a great way to showcase the academic achievements of not only our local students, but also our public schools,” said Mike Berry, Kentucky Derby Festival President & CEO. “We’re excited to have it returning to our event schedule in 2015.”

The Academic Challenge Presented by Sullivan University represents a great opportunity for students from all over the county to test their acumen by answering questions pertaining to math, science, social studies, language arts and humanities. The competition will feature 28 teams from local middle schools and a total of 300 students.
