Varanese Restaurant, located at 2106 Frankfort Avenue, will host a jazz concert by Jeff Sherman and his students on Tuesday, December 6 at 7:00pm. The end-of-semester concert will include performances by numerous students ranging from intermediate level to professional level. There will be five groups of musicians that include two mainstream ensembles, two guitar ensembles, and a classical guitar ensemble. The group of approximately 30 musicians are composed primarily of guitar, bass, drums and singers. Beginning at 7:00pm, each group will perform 6-8 songs. Jeff Sherman has spent his entire professional life performing music. He has taught jazz, classical guitar, and electric bass since 1966 and has toured with Marvin Gaye, Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughn.
