SLCM advocates for our neighbors through collective compassion. We believe it is a community’s responsibility to know and help their neighbors in their time of crisis. Our community extends to 72,407 people and we struggle with the second highest poverty rates in Louisville, but we believe that through collaboration and kinship, we can be that compassionate home base to everyone.
Last year, SLCM:
helped 154 families ensure stable housing and prevent homelessness through financial assistance,
fed 2912 children through the food pantry,
provided essential baby supplies to 642 households,
prevented unsafe conditions in 927 households by providing financial assistance for water and gas/electric to avoid disconnection,
provided 206 individuals with vital medication including insulin and cholesterol medication, and
served 403 veterans with food and financial assistance.
This year, we are dreaming big to better prevent homelessness, child hunger, and instability. We are asking you to join us as we work toward this neighborhood approach to take care of those most vulnerable.
We hope to see you there.
