The year is 1928, the world is about to transition from the Roaring Twenties to the Great Depression—and it is last year of each of the Fail sisters' lives. While they can't turn back time, reverse the flow of the river, or live happily ever after, Nelly, Gerty and Jenny June each find love and success with a little help from a stranger who has time on his side. A magical, musical fable that traces the Fail family’s triumphs and defeats, lived out in the rickety two-story building by the Chicago River that was their home and clock shop. This funny, moving and profoundly wise play reminds us to enjoy the journey and leave behind one heck of a story. The play premiered at Chicago’s Victory Theatre in 2012 and has been called "Fantastically macabre" (Huffington Post) and “wholly wonderful show that is profound, yet at the very same time whimsical beyond all imagining” (Chicago Sun Times).
