Preservation enthusiasts, DIY home fixer-uppers and historic home owners are invited to participate in a three-part series on window restoration led by Gary Kleier and Holli Nance.
For all classes students will need to provide their own safety glasses and gloves for handling glass. If you do not have glasses, you can only watch from a distance. Regular eye glasses are acceptable unless they are very narrow. Wear work clothes. If you have a sash you want to work on, please feel free to bring it, but be reasonable with the size. Other than glasses and gloves, all materials and tools will be provided.
Windows 103: This final class will delve into the nitty gritty of repairing a badly rotted window, weather-stripping a window and modifying a window to clean from the inside of the house. We will discuss storm windows and, if time permits, we will discuss making wooden storm windows.
Class space is limited, 10 participants. Payment is required in advance.
You do not need to attend Windows 101or 201 to sign up for Windows 301, but preference will be given to those who have completed 101 or 201.
