Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance Louisville has a guest speaker, Sergeant Pam Oberhausen, LMPD CIT , at the Louisville Free Public Library Main branch on Octobert 12th, 2019 from 3 pm - 4 pm in the conference center in the basement. Sgt Oberhausen will be speaking about how becoming more aware of your surroundings reduces your chances of becoming a victim. Since people with mental illness are twice as likely to be a victim of a crime than to commit a crime. She will also discuss options if there is a mental health crisis, and how asking for a CIT officer can help de-escalate and slow the situation down.
