Science Hill Inn will host its second International event - "Das Meal at Science Hill" featuring German fare with a Southern flair prepared by Chef Ellen Gill McCarty and hosted by Michael Beckmann and Caroline Knop benefiting Apron Inc. Chef Ellen states, "Fighting the fight against Cancer was not easy, having the help of Apron was unbelievable and I want to give back to my fellow friends in the industry assisting them with their battle!"

The food loving trio will combine their love for authentic German cuisine and drink with local ingredients to create a fusion like no other. The four course meal and beer pairing features passed apps- KY Country Ham and Sauerkraut Balls and Homemade Bier Cheese and Pretzels- with tastings of select Gordon Biersch biers in the historic courtyard. Homemade recipes from the Hubbuch/Rueff Family for Goetta (oatmeal sausage) featured in Pierogis and KY Grown Pork (beer soaked) Schnitzel with Spätzle and Apple Sauce. German Chocolate Cake will finish Das Meal. Biers served will be; Bohemian Pilsner, Marzen, Blonde Bock, and Winter Bock.

Chef Ellen Gill McCarty's first venture to faraway foods and the first "foodie series" was "From Peru to Lou with Love" hosted by local event savant Jo Self who now calls Peru her 2nd home, this event was a sold out success! Chef McCarty, Knop and Beckmann share a passion for delivering the ultimate food experience. This is the second "foodie series" event, expect more deliciousness to come!
