At the invitation of Mayor Greg Fischer, His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama will return to Louisville April 2017. The 22nd annual Festival of Faiths will move to April 19-24 to help Louisville host this internationally significant spiritual teacher and Nobel Peace Prize laureate.
On Sunday, April 23, the Dalai Lama will speak on the topic of Cultivating Compassion, Universal Responsibility and Living Nonviolence at the KFC Yum! Center.
This 5th day of ‘Festival of Faiths’ programming is also the last Sunday of the City of Louisville’s ‘Give a Day’ week of service when 175,000+ volunteers and acts of compassion occur during the preceding week. Look out too for some of those ‘Give a Day’ Heroes appearing in the Sunday KFC Yum! Center programming.
The Dalai Lama’s visit is hosted by the City of Louisville, partnering with the Center for Interfaith Relations, the Drepung Gomang Center for Engaging Compassion and the International Compassionate Cities Center.
