Communion Club Nights are back in 2015! We are revitalized and ready to kick off another fantastic season with February's Club Night's. We serve as a one-stop shop for artist discovery, with an impressive roster of alumni which includes Ben Howard, Gotye, Walk the Moon, Twin Peaks, Trampled By Turtles, Bear's Den, Rubblebucket and Magic Man. We are excited to announce we have added Chicago to our monthly series and are coming at you this year with even more incredible up-and-coming acts!
February Club Nights will feature The Ludlow Thieves, Kristin Diable, Marian Hill, Gill Landry, Future Unlimited and more. Be sure to check out the full line up's for all cities and get pre-sale tickets at www.communionmusic.com.
The Ludlow Thieves are made up of Dan Teicher (guitarist/writer/producer), Danny Musengo (singer/writer/street-artist), Walk Adams (drummer), Molly Fletcher (violinist), Isamu McGrego (keyboardist), and Laura Martin (singer, art director). Together, the band has sculpted tunes equally at home in Nashville and Brooklyn. With a sound that is as enormous as it is exuberant, the music's intensity can be traced back to a highway in Iowa where gratitude and purpose ignited a band. The sound is occasionally lush and often covered in dust; it is a rustic exploration of the grand and the intimate through an American lens.
Kristin Diable has been exploring freedom and choice in her music ever since she picked up an open mic at a lounge in Baton Rouge and stunned the audience into silence. She rode that vibe, away to New York and then back to her native Louisiana like a storm front, one that shook New Orleans and cooled the air. And her newest album, Create Your Own Mythology, invokes her Louisiana and Americana roots, while firing a rock-and-roll shot across the bow of borrowed myths
Marian Hill returns to February Club Nights after her sold-out EP release show in NYC! Comprised of Jeremy Lloyd (production/songwriting) and Samantha Gongol (vocals/songwriting), the pair's roots can be traced back as far as a middle school talent show that saw Lloyd - the son of a conductor and an opera singer - hear Gongol sing for the first time. Many a moon down the line, following a stint studying music composition at college for Lloyd while Gongol was cutting her teeth in New York as a songwriter, the pair reunited in the former's bedroom studio. "Got It" and "Lips", the latest offerings from the duo from their latest EP Play, might be the finest syntheses of their output to date.
We couldn't be happier to announce our return with these magical and inspiring artists! It's been over a year now since we launched Club Nights in the US, and with ten cities and a year of touring under our belts, there is still a lot for us to do. We're glad to have such a fantastic community of artists and listeners who've supported every step of the way. As always, we are coming to you every month so get ready for another round of curated shows.
