It seems a lovely little fairy has made herself at home and has been mischiefin' about our three floors of antiques, gifts, art and hobby items. Bring the whole family and use your smart phones to find the little pixie who calls herself "Ann Teekerbell".

A unique visitor has found her way into the halls of Derby City Antique Mall at 3819 Bardstown Road. A small fairy who calls herself "Ann TeekerBell" has decided to make the old school building her home, and visitors to the Antique mall will be able to use their smart phones to interact with photos and view the little pixie's mischief starting Saturday December 5, 2015 during the Christmas Open House. She seems to have been attracted to the many shiny objects and trinkets spanning the three floors, because cameras have caught video of her trying on jewelry and clothes, climbing the furniture and enjoying many of the items.
The mall will be running discounts December 4, 5, and 6, but the Antique Mall will serve complimentary refreshments as a representative helps guests learn to use their smart phones to view augmented photos (like the one attached) spread throughout the 30,000 square feet of merchandise on December 5th only. When guests aim their phones at the specified photos, the image will come to life on their screens and they will be able to see the previously invisible Ann TeekerBell interacting with items in the Mall (video.) (In plain terms, the photo on their phone turns into video when aimed at the correct photo.) There will also be live entertainment.
"It's like looking through a magic mirror, " said co-owner Kay Peak. "It's a great opportunity to come out shopping with the whole family and enjoy a day of fun, "Kids of all ages, teens, and adults will enjoy the magic of aiming their phone at photos of Ann TeekerBell's favorite items and watching her come to life."
The antique mall is open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. They are open on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. There is also a new cafe called Teacups and Bombshells open on the first floor, which is operated by "Bake My Day" and serves lunch items in addition to delicious cakes and pastries.
