Join us Thursday, October 13th for the second event in Haymarket's Charitable Barrels: Whiskey by the Cause series, sponsored by Buffalo Trace. We'll be welcoming guest bartenders from Chicago's premiere whiskey bar and artisanal gastropub, Longman & Eagle, for a one-night bar takeover benefiting creative wellness nonprofit Strive.
The women of Strive will help transform Haymarket Whiskey Bar into a real life, throwback juke joint called Honky Tonk for Strive. Between 8 and 11 p.m., enjoy an open bar of Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Buffalo Trace specialty cocktails, and free food from The Silver Dollar. The music hall will feature a live performance of The Hellfire Four, a honky tonk quartet featuring Joan Shelley and friends with line dancing led by Co-Executive Directors of Strive, Nina Rodahaffer and Cheyenne Mize. DJ "Buffalo" Ben Townsend will be spinning classic country records in the bar area and finest honky tonk attire is encouraged!
Founded by Cheyenne Mize and Nina Rodahaffer in 2015, Strive is a non-profit organization providing creative wellness education and services to the Louisville community.
