The headline of the Billboard article said it all: “Like They Never Left.” The iconic band Bush is back in grandeur after releasing their most recent album The Sea of Memories in 2011. Now Bush is back on tour to bring their devoted fans another incredible performance to the Louisville Palace stage on Sunday, June 5.
Over the course of their remarkable career, BUSH has sold close to 20 million records in the U.S. and Canada alone. They’ve compiled an amazing string of 18 consecutive Top 40 hit singles on the Modern Rock and Mainstream Rock charts, including 11 that hit the Top 5, six of which shot to No. 1: “Comedown,” “Glycerine,” “Machinehead,” “Swallowed,” “The Chemicals Between Us” and “The Sound of Winter.” Led by vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Gavin Rossdale, Bush’s most recent release was 2014’s Man On The Run, recorded with Grammy-winning producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Mastodon, Deftones). That followed “comeback album” The Sea of Memories, their first release in 10 years. Hailed by Rolling Stone as a 3-star “vital viva-la-grunge manifesto,” the album saw BUSH returning to the top of the charts in grand style, as lead single “The Sound of Winter” made rock radio history by becoming the first self-released song ever to hit No. 1 at Alternative Rock Radio (where it stayed for six consecutive weeks). Bush is currently in pre-production for a new studio album.
Special guests The Dose —Indio Downey [vocals, guitar] and Ralph Alexander [drums, bass]— have a unique sound steeped in rock bombast, alternative poetry, blues rawness, and progressively metallic intricacy. Inspired by the likes of Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Queens of the Stone Age, Tame Impala, and The Sword, The Dose unlocked a robust signature sound without adding any other members, resorting to digital playback, or employing backing tracks.
