The Scottish Soceity of Louisville is delighted to host an evening celebrating the life and works of Scotland's loved poet, Robert Burns, full of traditional toasts, entertainment and dancing to satisfy your Celtic thirst for months. Tickets are $45 each, includes a plated dinner, live entertainment and toasts. No tickets are sold at the door. Tickets can be purchased on line at scotsoflou.com or by calling 502.243.2638.
For those who attend each year, this is a much‐anticipated evening to spend with our friends from near and far. Please join us as we continue our rich traditions and initiate new ones in the liveliest manner. Our own native Scotsman, James Hughes, will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Karen Brumley will pipe in the Haggis - as part of the traditional Haggis Ceremony and reciting of Burns' poem, 'Ode to the Haggis'. The high energy 'kilt' music performed by Mother Grove will serve as a perfect backdrop throughout the evening's festivities. Don Corson will guide us in Scottish Country Dancing. A cash bar opens at 6 p.m. and dinner activities will commence promptly at 6:30 p.m. with a plated traditional Scottish dinner and the serving of haggis, along with wee drams of whisky for traditional toasts.
We have pulled out all the stops in order to have an evening of entertainment that is sure to please, filled with the sound of bagpipes, kilts, toasts and Scottish dance that will last until we join hands in the circle of friendship for the singing of Auld Land Syne at night's end.
