UofL professor Dr. Andreas Elpidorou will sing the praises of frustration in this Fast Class. He will weave together stories of art, mathematical discoveries, animal behavior, video games, and neuroscience to show that although frustration is unpleasant and initially opposes progress, it can also be extremely energizing. Frustration isn’t a failure, but a temporary setback, fraught with the possibility of success. It is an opportunity to be invigorated by the various obstacles that life inevitably lays in our paths.
Dr. Andreas Elpidorou is Associate Professor of Philosophy at the University of Louisville. He works in philosophy of mind, metaphysics, philosophy of psychology, phenomenology, and, more recently, moral psychology and aesthetics, and has written extensively on consciousness, emotions, and physicalism. His book "Propelled Toward the Good Life" will be released from Oxford University Press in 2019.
The class is free and open to the public, but registration is requested. Call (502) 574-1623 to reserve your spot.
