The Bristol Bar and Grille, 1321 Bardstown Road, Dumfries is to be the venue for a public reading and book launch of (The) Last Year, Pat Kirby’s first novel.  This work focuses on the difficult and sometimes comical dilemmas someone might face if they knew they had only one year left.  Deborah’s bucket list brings her to Louisville where she has some interesting encounters with blasts from her past as well as her own personal doppelganger. 

The event, being held on Easter Saturday, 15 April, at 4 pm, is open to the public.  There are complimentary drinks and snacks, a chance to hear a wee bit of the story and an opportunity to ask questions of the author, who will be available to sign books.  Copies of her novel will be available to purchase but there is genuinely no pressure to do so.  Do come along if you want to hear about Deborah’s last year and have a drink at The Bristol.
