Ida Clare and Danny Paisley & the Southern Grass July 28
Since its inception in 2003, Bluegrass on the Square has featured some of the most well-known Bluegrass musicians in the region. Now in its 15th year, the tradition continues with performers Danny Paisley and The Southern Grass, Hog Operation, Ida Clare, New Balance, No Tools Loaned, and The Wooks. All concerts are free and open to the public.
Corydon’s picturesque historic town square is the perfect setting to sprawl out on the lawn, so consider bringing lawn chairs and blankets. Dine and shop at our unique local businesses.
Louisville-based Ida Clare plays a diverse mix of bluegrass, country, and newgrass. Whether performing at a festival, at a rehearsal, or just warming up back stage before a show, the music is always exciting and fun. Band members include Jim Wheatley (mandolin and song writer), Lea Cockrell (vocals), Mark Miller (bass), and Robin Thixton (banjo), many of whom are vocalists and multi-instrumentalists.
Danny Paisley and The Southern Grass have made their own niche in the bluegrass world. Paisley won the 2016 Male Vocalist of the Year award, and in 2009 their song “Don’t Throw Mama’s Flowers Away” was awarded Song of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association. Paisley’s father Bob, who passed away in 2004, founded The Southern Grass—today the band is comprised of Danny and his son Ryan (mandolin), TJ Lundy (fiddle), Mark Delaney (banjo), and Eric Troutman (bass).
