Every Thursday throughout the spring, summer and fall, the Bluegrass Farmers' Market at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital, a part of KentuckyOne Health, will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. The market will offer a variety of fresh produce, meat, and eggs—many items are produced by resettled refugees using their extensive agricultural skills to provide fresh, nutritious, locally grown produce for their families and the community.
In addition to the large selection of fresh food, Louisville Metro has established a token-matching program for SNAP participants. Using their SNAP EBT card, shoppers will be able to debit their account for tokens redeemable at each farmer’s stall. This program will hopefully get more farm-direct produce into the hands of low-income area residents
