Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory is known for its tributes to America’s pastime, but in the spirit of the holidays, the museum is highlighting an entirely different collection of games.
The “Best. Toys. Ever.” exhibition will feature the most popular toys from the past century. Included in the expansive collection of vintage, original models, will be a one-of-a-kind interactive model train set.
Many of the featured toys are in the National Toy Hall of Fame. The exhibition will include a variety of sections, including Dolls (Barbie, G.I. Joe), Creative Fun (Easy-Bake Oven, Silly Putty), Games (Monopoly, Rubik’s Cube), Athletic Play (Hula Hoop, Louisville Slugger plastic ball and bat), and Electronics (Atari system, Tickle Me Elmo). Some of the toys in the exhibition are on loan from The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.
An interactive model train set made by Roundhouse Electric Trains of Louisville will be unveiled as part of the exhibition. The O-scale set features three different guest-controlled locomotives and a scale replica of Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory.
