This class is for anyone wanting to learn basics for sewing. To begin, you will learn to measure, pin, press your fabric. You will then sew straight seams on the ¼’ and 5/8’ seam allowances and on the fold. We will show you how to use a casing on sewn items to insert your ribbon handles. This procedure is also used for elastic bands such as used in pajama pants. Needed for first class:

Angled shears
Pins and pin cushion
6’ measuring tool
Seam ripper
Large 2’ safety pin

You will need to bring:
½ yard cotton fabric
2 ½ yards grosgrain ribbon
Coordinating or matching thread
