Varanese Restaurant, located at 2106 Frankfort Avenue, will host the “Baron de Ley Wine Dinner” on Tuesday, May 17, with a reception at 6:30pm and dinner at 7:00pm. The special guest for the evening will be Inigo Echavarri, Export Manager for Baron de Ley, who will be on hand to answer questions about the wines being served and their special attributes. Each of the six courses will be paired with a wine from the estate winery based in an old fortified monastery located on the left bank of the Ebro River in Spain. It was established in 1985 and focuses on crafting high quality Rioja, Reserva and Gran Reserva wines. It models its approach on the French concept of “château” where the grapes are sourced from the property's own vineyards rather than sourcing the grapes from contract growers as is typical of this area.
