Cristóbal Balenciaga is one of the most revered fashion designers of the twentieth century. His revolutionary shapes and unrivaled craftsmanship shaped the modernity of 1960's fashion and continues to shape fashion today, from the exquisite couture to the avant-garde street-wear. Stephanie Wood, of London’s Victoria and Albert Museum, will explore the inspiration and influence of this renowned Spanish couturier, including his connection to a Kentucky-born muse, Mona Bismarck, subject of the Frazier’s newest exhibition Magnificent Mona Bismarck: Kentucky Style Icon.
Stephanie Wood, Co-Curator of the critically-acclaimed Balenciaga: Shaping Fashion at the Victoria and Albert Museum, will enhance understanding of the importance of Balenciaga to fashion and with regard to Mona’s style.
Price includes light refreshments.
There will also be a cash bar.
