Astronomy Day Celebration
In addition to a special $5/person admission to our public shows at 1 PM, 2 PM and 3 PM (members get in FREE), representatives from the Louisville Astronomical Society will be on hand with solar telescopes and other activities. Everyone gets to enter a drawing for great prizes that includes a pair of Bushnell 10x 50 mm Falcon Binoculars along with the Binocular Stargazing guide by Mike Reynolds and a family membership to the planetarium and there will be free giveaways for all (or as long as supplies last)!
Pluto in Focus (Free presentation)
4 PM – 5 PM
New images of Pluto and other dwarf planets have been steadily coming to us from the New Horizons mission, revealing unexpected findings. Join us at 4 PM as we take you on a visual journey exploring all of the exciting new discoveries that have been made by this ground breaking mission. The presentation ends with an unveiling of our expanded meteorite collection, boasting of over 70 amazing specimens.
