The Louisville community’s unique arts and cultural experiences will be broadcast live and free to the public over social media, every hour on the hour from dawn to dusk on June 26. The Fund for the Arts’ new initiative, #ArtIs: In Your Hands, is intended to showcase the wide-reaching impact of the Arts.
 
Using the new social media live-streaming technology, Periscope, the Fund will provide followers an interactive tour engaging the community’s vibrant arts and cultural scene, and showcasing diverse arts institutions, events and locations over the course of the day.

Arts organizations from all corners of the community will be featured. A full schedule of activities will be released the week of the event, but early bookings include an exclusive backstage look at Actors Theatre, a live look at the Louisville Ballet summer program and a tour of public art in Southern Indiana with the Carnegie Center. The day will close with a Kentucky Shakespeare performance in Central Park.

Community members wishing to view one or all of the #ArtIs: In Your Hands experiences can view them directly from their smartphone through the Periscope app and receive real-time updates via social media. 
During #ArtIs: In Your Hands, donations will be accepted directly via the web by visiting www.fundforthearts.com. The one-day #ArtIs: In Your Hands initiative will serve as a final push for the Fund for the Arts' campaign ending the on the following Tuesday, June 30.
