Among today's most exciting and innovative chamber music ensembles, The American Chamber Players return to Louisville on April 30th. This performance is the final concert of season for the Chamber Music Society of Louisville, and will be held at 3:00 PM at University of Louisville School of Music, Margaret Comstock Hall.
Recognized for their performance repertoire featuring hidden treasures and romantic gems, their varied instrumental combinations have been as enthusiastically praised as much as their dynamic performances. This Louisville appearance will feature works by Max Bruch, Louise Farrenc, Jacques Ibert, and Gabriel Faure’. “This versatile combination of strings, wood winds and piano makes for an exciting and romantic program.” Said Dr. Cecilia Huerta-Lauf, Chamber Music Society of Louisville, Secretary.
"They appealed to the heart and the head, offering a warm, seductively luxurious sound and an impressive precision and unity of purpose." in the words of the New York Times. The American Chamber Players tour internationally and have performed at a series of special gala concerts at the Paris Opera and the Bibliothèque Nationale as well as throughout the United States and Canada. Based in Washington, D.C. they are frequent guests on National Public Radio’s Performance Today program.
Tickets may be purchased at the door, or in advance, online, at: http://louisvillechambermusic.eventbrite.com/. General Admission tickets are $25.00 with student tickets available for $5.00 (age limit applies). A pre-concert talk will precede the performance at 2 PM in the School of Music, adjacent to Comstock Hall.
The Chamber Music Society of Louisville was founded in 1938 and is Kentucky’s oldest chamber music organization. The Chamber Music Society of Louisville also sponsors the Macauley Chamber Music Competition to encourage an interest in chamber music among young musicians in the Kentuckiana area. This competition will help to develop the ensemble skills of young artists and to cultivate a lifelong love of chamber music. The Chamber Music Society of Louisville is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and operates with the support of its longtime partner, the University of Louisville School of Music.
