Love, loss, and almost-moments under the northern lights
January 17-26 at CTC
Almost, Maine
by John Cariani
directed by Charlie Sexton
Falling in love is tough. Falling out of love is tough. In the mythical town of Almost, Maine, residents find themselves falling in or out of love in unusual, hilarious, and magical ways. This play of vignettes captures the moments — happy, bittersweet, and miraculous — when life takes us by surprise and leaves us wanting more.
Almost, Maine premiered in 2004 in Portland, Maine, opened Off-Broadway in 2006, and thanks to acclaim as a plainspoken masterpiece blending humor, heart, and a dose of surrealism has become one of the most frequently produced plays in the U.S.
