Dr. Matthew Costello, Senior Historian for the White House Historical Association, will speak on the memory of George Washington, his tomb at Mount Vernon, and the enslaved storytellers who were the first on-site interpreters of Washington’s legacy. The Locust Grove Afternoon Lecture Series is held the first Wednesday of each month. Dessert and coffee are served at 1:00 pm with the lecture immediately following at 1:15 pm.
