IMPROVA-SUTRA: a TWO NIGHT improv comedy and burlesque variety show at The Bard's Town!

Improv Comedy and Burlesque Join For a Unique Pre-Valentine's Day Show

Louisville's own improv comedy troupe Project Improv will share the stage with the talented ladies of the Kentucky Burlesque Society at the third annual "Improva-Sutra", a two-night/three-show comedy-and-burlesque event Friday, February 5th at 8pm and 10:30 pm and Saturday, February 6th at 10:30 at The Bard's Town Theater. The show is the first of its kind in the area to combine award-winning burlesque performers with an experienced team of local improvisors for a uniquely well-rounded and polished variety entertainment show. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased in advance at thebardstown.com or at the door.

"For our third year of Improva-Sutra, we're going bigger and better than ever," said Project Improv cast member Charity Murphy. "We're doing three performances, we've booked an incredible aerial burlesque artist, and having just come off a run of regional improv festival performances in St. Louis and Indianapolis, we've refined our own character-based pieces as well."

Hosted by Igor Travinski (a recently imported Russian night club owner) and starring a cast of characters including Coach Rubbins (a clueless high school coach-turned-sex-ed-teacher) Improva-Sutra aims to answer the audiences' deepest questions about sex and intimacy with a series of improvised sketches. Comedy is interspersed with live, artistic burlesque performances by The Kentucky Burlesque Society for a balance of lust and laughs.
