On the second weekend of June each year, Louisville offers glimpses into one of its best-kept secrets. The Old Louisville Hidden Treasures Garden Tour welcomes garden lovers into the private green spaces of the nation’s largest Victorian residential neighborhood. Our gardeners share their personal retreats, tucked behind stately Victorian mansions and protected by vine-covered walls and privacy fences.
2018 is the Silver Anniversary of the Garden Tour and we're planning to make it special. Garden tourists will stroll past Queen Anne, Romanesque, Chateauesque and Italianate mansions in Historic Old Louisville, named in 2016 "One of the Great Places in America," by the American Planning Society. Tourists will experience gardens that express the individuality of their owners—traditional and artsy. Many are outdoor rooms.
The registration will-call table and vendor tables will again be on the lawn of the Conrad-Caldwell House Museum at 1402 St. James Court. Visitors may rest, refresh, and shop a silent auction for garden related items, Father’s Day baskets and entertainment packages in the air-conditioned Haskins Hall, adjacent to the museum.
The DuPont Inn Bed and Breakfast will again host Art In The Garden, a gathering of local artists who will create and sell artwork in the Inn's lovely garden between noon and 4PM all weekend.
